Orofacial Recovery Certificate Program – Interprofessional Training for Healthcare Providers
Sep 19, 2025We are excited to announce the launch of the Orofacial Recovery Certificate Program – Level 1, a groundbreaking interprofessional continuing education program designed for licensed healthcare providers across disciplines.
This first-of-its-kind training brings together professionals who share a common goal: improving care for patients experiencing TMJ disorders, orofacial pain, stiffness, and functional limitations. It was developed by Rebecka Clark, a dual-licensed RDH and LMT who developed the modality after suffering with her own oral surgery recovery.
Why This Program Matters
Did you know that 1 in 4 people are estimated to suffer with orofacial pain and loss of function, and that the estimate may be as high as 35% of people? TMJ disorders alone account for 10-12 million cases in the United States. Many struggle daily with chronic pain, limited mobility, and challenges that affect eating, speaking, and overall quality of life. Despite the prevalence, patients often face fragmented care because no single profession owns diagnosis and treatment, so a collaborative approach is the only way we can address all aspects of orofacial recovery.
That’s where interprofessional education comes in. By learning together, providers can develop a deeper understanding of the anatomy, structures, and interconnected systems of the head, face, and neck. This knowledge can then be applied within your scope of practice to improve patient outcomes and support true collaborative care.
