Meet Logan from Fairview Dental Hygiene Clinic
Nov 19, 2025For many dental hygienists, a career is defined by the walls of a single clinic. But for Logan Hubek, BScDH, RDH, CH-OSE, her passion for oral health has led her to build a career without boundaries, serving her community both within her own private practice and on the road. As a proud member of NNHH and a dedicated Oncology Oral Care Certificate Holder, Logan’s story is one of continuous growth, heartfelt service, and a deep-seated desire to alleviate suffering.
A Heart for the Community
Logan is the President of Fairview Dental Hygiene Clinic, but her impact extends far beyond its doors. She operates a mobile practice, bringing essential oral healthcare to patients in long-term care facilities and private homes around Brooks, Alberta, Canada. This hybrid role allows her to meet patients where they are, breaking down barriers to access and ensuring that even the most vulnerable receive the care they deserve. Her commitment to community health is further demonstrated through her volunteer work with the Brooks Health Foundation, where she collaborates with physicians to elevate the importance of oral care in overall health.
When asked what demographic tugs at her heartstrings, her answer is simple and profound: “All.” This sentiment is the driving force behind her work. “I don’t like seeing anyone suffer or be in pain,” she shares. “Everyone matters.” This deeply personal mission fuels her dedication to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to every individual she treats.
A Quest for Knowledge to Better Serve
Logan’s journey into advanced education was sparked by a recommendation from a mentor and her own insatiable curiosity. “I love science and health care and I’ll never stop learning,” she says. This drive led her to enroll in the oncology oral care program, a decision that has profoundly impacted her practice. The program provided her with a deeper understanding of the oral complications of cancer treatment and equipped her with the knowledge to address complex patient needs.
One of the most significant challenges she encounters is helping patients manage the debilitating side effects of cancer treatment. “The most common problem is patients having pins and needles or dry mouth after chemo and radiation,” she explains. “It is my job to help ease Xerostomia and educate my patients.” The certificate program armed her with advanced knowledge of products, nutritional guidance, and where to find the resources to make a tangible difference for these patients. This specialized expertise has not only improved patient outcomes but has also empowered her to confidently collaborate with medical providers, bridging the gap between dental and medical care.
Inspiring the Future of Dental Hygiene
Logan has found that her expanded knowledge is crucial in conversations with physicians, who often have limited training in oral health. By sharing what she’s learned, she helps create a more integrated and effective healthcare experience for patients.
Looking to the future, Logan dreams of continuing to grow her business and one day stepping into the role of an educator. Her annual volunteer work at elementary schools in Brooks has ignited a passion for teaching, and she aspires to one day teach a university class. Her journey is a powerful example of how a commitment to lifelong learning can open new doors and create new possibilities.
To her fellow hygienists considering the NNHH programs, Logan’s advice is enthusiastic and direct: “DO IT! Never stop learning! You will come out with so much to help others.” Her story is a testament to the fact that a career in dental hygiene is not just a job, but a journey of continuous growth, compassion, and the unwavering belief that everyone deserves to live free from pain.
